A: (1) Dobrá odolnost proti korozi, obyčejná nerezová ocel nemohou odolat korozi a korodují v kyselém a alkalickém prostředí, zatímco nerezová ocel 304 (nebo 316) lze použít v silném prostředí.
(2) Anti rzi, i když bude umístěn do vody, nikdy nebude rez.
(3) Nemagnetické: Obecně 440 ložisek z nerezové oceli mají vysoké magnetické vlastnosti, které lze nasávat magnetem. Materiály 304 a 316 však ne, zejména 316 materiálů, které mohou dosáhnout úplných ne magnetických vlastností.
